Our Story
Where Stars Are Formed.
A nebula is a giant cloud of dust and gas in space. Some nebulae come from the gas and dust thrown out by the explosion of a dying star, such as a supernova. Other nebulae are regions where new stars are beginning to form. For this reason, some nebulae are called “star nurseries.”
That's the role we set out to play for South African small businesses and startups: the place where a brand takes its first shape and catches its first light, before it's ready to shine further afield on its own.

A word from the founder
Having spent the better part of a decade in marketing, in various roles and organisations, one thing has become painfully clear to me: marketing is often undervalued and misunderstood, especially among small businesses and start-ups. I've had a lot of conversations with people running smaller businesses about how they handle their marketing. The honest answer, more often than not, was that they didn't.
It's not hard to see why. Owners are expected to either master it on top of running the business, or hand it to an agency whose proposals are built for companies several times their size, at a price to match. Neither fits, so marketing slips down the list and the business grows more slowly than it should.
That's hard to accept when you consider how much is riding on these businesses. South Africa's small businesses and start-ups are where most of the country's new jobs and new ideas come from, run by people who have taken a real risk on something they believe in. Helping them get a proper footing is the reason Nebula exists.
We don't pretend marketing is simple. We make it manageable, by tackling it in the right order: understand the business first, build the foundations properly, then grow from there. Hands-on throughout, scoped to your objectives rather than a template, and with the reasoning explained as we go, so you finish with a marketing function you understand and can build on.
Mission
