Cookie Policy
Effective date: 10 September 2026
1 · WHAT THIS POLICY COVERS
This Cookie Policy explains how Nebula Marketing Group (Pty) Ltd (registration number 2026/686243/07), trading as "Nebula Marketing" ("Nebula", "we", "us", "our"), uses cookies and similar technologies on nebulamarketing.digital (the "Site"). It should be read together with our Privacy Policy, which explains more generally how we handle personal information.
2 · WHAT ARE COOKIES?
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. They allow a site to recognise your device and remember information about your visit, such as your preferences or actions. "Similar technologies" includes things like pixels, tags, and local storage that work in a comparable way.
3 · COOKIES USED ON THIS SITE
3.1 Strictly necessary cookies (always active)
These cookies are essential for the Site to function correctly — for example, cookies set by our website platform, Framer, to load pages, apply security protections, and remember basic session information. Because these cookies are necessary for the Site to work, they do not require your consent, though we still disclose them here for transparency. The Site also stores your cookie-banner choice in your browser's local storage (under the name nebula_cookie_consent) for 12 months, so that we can honour it on return visits. This record contains only your choice (accepted or rejected) and the time it was made, and is not shared with anyone.
3.2 Analytics cookies (Google Analytics)
We use Google Analytics 4, provided by Google LLC, to understand how visitors use the Site — for example, which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, and how they arrived at the Site — so we can improve it. It collects information such as your approximate location (derived from your IP address, which Google Analytics 4 does not log or store), device and browser type, and browsing behaviour on the Site. Google Analytics is only loaded after you accept non-essential cookies through the Site's cookie banner. It sets the following cookies:
— _ga (Google) — distinguishes one visitor from another. Expires after 2 years.
— _ga_[property ID] (Google) — maintains the current browsing session for our Analytics property. Expires after 2 years.
These cookies are not strictly necessary. Whether POPIA requires your prior consent before they are set depends on the information processed and the lawful basis that applies; as a matter of privacy-by-design practice, we will not set them until you have made a choice through the Site's cookie banner. Google's own handling of this information is described in its privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
3.3 Marketing/advertising cookies (Meta Pixel and LinkedIn Insight Tag)
We use two advertising tools to measure the effectiveness of our marketing and, where relevant, to show you more relevant Nebula content on other platforms. Both are only loaded after you accept non-essential cookies through the Site's cookie banner.
— Meta Pixel (Meta Platforms, Inc.) — records that you visited the Site and which pages you viewed, so we can measure advertising on Facebook and Instagram and reach people with similar interests. It sets _fbp, which identifies your browser (expires after 3 months), and, if you arrived via a Meta advert, _fbc, which stores the advert click identifier (expires after 3 months). If you are logged in to Facebook or Instagram, Meta may link your visit to your account.
— LinkedIn Insight Tag (LinkedIn Corporation) — records your visit so we can measure advertising on LinkedIn and understand, in aggregate, the industries and job functions of visitors. It sets li_sugr and AnalyticsSyncHistory (browser identification and sync; expire after 3 months and 1 month respectively), UserMatchHistory (advert measurement; expires after 1 month), bcookie and lidc (LinkedIn browser and routing identifiers; expire after 1 year and 24 hours), and ln_or (expires after 1 day). If you are logged in to LinkedIn, LinkedIn may link your visit to your account.
This is a form of direct marketing tracking, and POPIA section 69 requires your prior opt-in consent before we use electronic direct marketing tools like this. We will only set these cookies, and use your information for this purpose, once you have given your explicit consent through the Site's cookie banner — you can withdraw that consent at any time. Meta's and LinkedIn's own use of this information is governed by their privacy policies at facebook.com/privacy/policy and linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.
4 · YOUR CONSENT
Where consent is legally required (see Sections 3.2 and 3.3), we will ask for it through a cookie banner or similar mechanism when you first visit the Site, before any non-essential cookie is set. As a matter of privacy-by-design practice, we take the same approach for non-essential analytics and advertising cookies generally, regardless of the precise legal basis that applies to a given tool. You can accept or decline non-essential cookies, and change your choice at any time — for example by clearing cookies in your browser and revisiting the Site, or through any cookie-preference control we make available on the Site.
You can also control cookies directly through your browser settings, including blocking cookies altogether or being notified when a cookie is set. Blocking all cookies may affect the functionality of this and other websites.
Consent given through the cookie banner or other electronic means is a valid electronic communication under the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act 25 of 2002 ("ECTA"), and has the same legal effect as consent given in writing.
5 · THIRD-PARTY COOKIES
Some cookies on the Site are set by third parties — Google, Meta, and LinkedIn, as described in Section 3 — rather than by Nebula directly. We do not control these third parties' own cookies or how they use the information collected, which is governed by their own privacy and cookie policies.
6 · CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time, particularly if we add, remove, or change the tools used on the Site. The version published on the Site is always the current one.
